One Down (again)

This time it's one month down.

:woot:

:chugachoo

(Have you noticed I don't count down in the traditional sense? Counting the time left to go is way too overwhelming for me. Instead I count the days I've survived. Do you count down?)

I try not to keep track very closely...although I do have a "donut of misery" on my computer counting down the time for me. I'm almost mid-way, and the horizons, both back and forward seem so far away.
My Hubby knows exactly how many days it is until his R&R, and is excited that sometime next month it'll be in double digits. :chugachoo

I count the same way you do. One more month down. I like exactness. And since I don't know exactly when he is coming home for good (for now?), I will wait until it is just a few weeks away. I'll start the by-day countdown to the R&R soon. It's less than 45 days from now! Woohoo!

I usually do the count you do til I hit the halfway mark. Then I start doing fingers, toes, and paws. I tell the cat, "okay, I need all my fingers, all my toes, and all your claws to count how many days are left..." it goes down from there...

I love your way of counting how many days you have gone rather than how many days you have left :)

Bye bye :censored: month!!! :giggle:

I think Val (Dig Your Toes In) also counts like that?

When LT was gone last time I tried not to count, though he kept bringing it up when we talked.

I count down but I only worry about one month at a time. I'm not a clock or calendar watcher. It would drive me nuts. Basically when a month is over, it's a month I've survived (as you so rightly put it). I won't start counting days left until we are within a month of him coming home.

I've always counted seasons. Last time he left it was winter. Then it became Spring and we celebrated. Then Summer and we celebrated again. Then Autumn and it was crunch time. Counting down is always hard.
