She Who Waits
Who exactly is she?

Among other definitions, I am someone who has fallen head over heels for a Marine infantry officer. I am a portrait photographer, chocolate addict, wine lover, sometimes writer, dog lover, and oh yeah, a military spouse too.

This blog was started as a personal outlet while the aforementioned Marine was deployed to Iraq very early in our dating relationship. I decided to continue posting periodically after he made it safely home. Three months into our marriage he returned to Iraq for another tour, and I continued to write. After he returned home we encountered two PCS moves in 7 months and another year long trip to Iraq for him, so I figured I'd just keep blogging and hang on for this crazy ride!

You know he's deployed ...

You know your husband is deployed when you dream about instant messenger conversations instead of real conversation. :anxious

I woke up this morning fully expecting him to be online and us to be chatting, continuing the conversation that had been in my dream. :giggle:

at least it was a good dream. I've woken up mad at hubs for something he did in a dream and was still mad at him...He seemed to think that was unfair...

I have no idea how to do it. Its only been 3 weeks and i barely sleep at night hoping to hear that little noise that AIM makes to see if he's online. Plus the roller coast of waterworks really sucks. Good luck to you.

I completely understand Steph. I've been known to dream about having a conversation with him to wake up to his "I am HERE!" noise on IM. (I've got my volume set ALL the way up so that it's sure to wake me up... same with phone.
