One of our own will be on TLC's What Not To Wear this Friday.

Rosemary has one of the toughest jobs in the military - being a military wife! She nominated herself for WNTW as a surprise homecoming gift for her husband who's been deployed for five months and would be shocked to come home to a more stylish wife.

I saw the preview for this the other night and it appears Rosemary is not only a navy wife, but one with five children! I can't think of someone more deserving of a $5000 shopping trip to NYC and makeover to go with it. I'll be tuning in.

I do have to say that I didn't care for TLC's marketing strategy in the preview. (I have been trying to find the clip I saw but as yet have been unsuccessful.) They really played up the fact that she was an "Officer's Wife" and it seemed they were going to bring her up to some sort of standard set for wives of officers. While my husband is an officer I really tend to balk at the stigma given to officer's wives because well, I'm not a stereotype and I don't expect others to be either! Heck, one of my closest friends here is married to a SSgt and I look up to her. Meh, I'll get off my soap box now, but it just irked me that they played it up so much. I'll not judge the episode on TLC's spin alone, so I guess I'll just have to watch and cheer Rosemary on from my den.
