"They also serve who only stand and wait." - John Milton

Morale

He: We're trying to stay 'out' as much as possible over the next few weeks.
He: Keeps morale up, and makes time go by faster.

For them, sure. :fit:

:**: I knew I shouldn't have gotten used to and/or come to rely on the increased contact over the past couple of weeks. Now I have to readjust all over again. The days are long. Times like this, I almost wish we had kids to fill the days ...

AlmostDone.AlmostDone.AlmostDone.AlmostDone. :bored:

Don't mind my whining.

Take it from me. Children complicate deployments and make it even more difficult to handle. I love my kids, but I wish, for the sake of dealing with deployments, that I was childfree again. 8|

Don't get me wrong - children are great, but I think many women believe children will alleviate the loneliness, but when they're small, they just make more work and take away opportunities to go out and be social with other adults.

This sounds like such a lecture, and I don't mean it to be. Just popping in with an observation.

Oh I know, KL. Most times I'm grateful we're waiting. Hence the 'almost' above. ;)

As a single mom, let me just say that yes, kids will keep you busy. But as a single mom who loves a deployed Army guy, let me also say that I sometimes resent the fact that I'm so distracted by missing him that I can't be fully present with my kids. And sometimes, I get upset that my kids want my attention and I just want to sit and sulk. I don't know. Its hard either way.

Time... it really messes with ya, doesn't it? Me too!
:bored:

Oh and I don't remember you ever declaring this a "no whining" zone. Heck, we all need to vent somewhere!!

"AlmostDone.AlmostDone.AlmostDone.AlmostDone" That's right. And I'm right behind you.
