Empty
I cleared off his side of the bed today. It has been 'occupied' by various things during this deployment, including clean laundry and even random boxes or decor. I just don't sleep on his side at all and don't have a lot of surface on which to put things temporarily. It seemed like a 'logical' solution.
It also meant that the bed didn't really feel quite so empty.
It's empty. It's three in the morning and boy, is it empty. 
Maybe I should arrange the pillows so that they fill that side or something ...

When DH came back from his last trip, he had to fight for his space on the bed with the cat. It went on every night for a week. Toby was even using DH's pillow to rest his furry little head at night. And boy was he mad about being forced back down to the foot of the bed!

My pug is going to have a similar issue. He'll start out at the foot of the bed but almost always winds up next to me instead, usually on hubby's side of the bed.
