It hit me today that not only do I need to shop for a Father's Day gift for both of our fathers, but find something little for our first wedding anniversary in a few weeks, as well.

We agreed not to do anything big after the recent trip, but I decided on something little and personalized. Thinking about getting everything in place made me realize that I really had been married a year, even though I still feel like a newlywed. I think I am still very much a newlywed, having only been in the same vicinity as my husband for just under four months total. At the same time, we're approaching our anniversary and have survived a pretty trying first year of marriage and even come out stronger for it, I believe.

I look at my husband daily and find myself just filled with emotion, even wonder. I can't believe I found such a wonderful person who is also a great match for me. More often than not we are thinking the same thing, laugh at the same things, and just genuinely enjoy each other on a day to day basis. I still don't know how I managed to get so lucky. He's really mine and he's really here, too. He still amazes me.

One year almost down. I can't wait to see what the rest of our years hold.
