What I've been up to lately

I don't make a good housewife. I just don't. I'm bored, unmotivated, and grumpy. I need something to do, but don't see the point in getting a job for just a few months.

Consequently, I've delved into photography. I thought I'd share some photos. Most of these were taken before we moved, but I've been learning a lot in the weeks since then and just started in a mentorship program with weekly assignments, so I hope to learn even more through that.

A memorial here on post:

These next three are close to my heart. This family was on the beach to wave goodbye to their father as he was being flown to the ship, which was about to deploy on a MEU. Charlie and I happened to go down to get some photos and were in the right spot at the right time. As it turns out, they were friends of a friend, so it worked out well. (These aren't final edits as there are a few things I need to correct, but are close enough.)

And of course, my goddaughter:

Your goddaughter is such a pretty little girl. She's so lucky to have a godmom with an eye for pictures! Her mom is lucky too! Great pics, Stephanie

I cannot really imagine being strictly a housewife. I would probably take on the same approach you have, diving into a hobby or something. Or more schooling I guess...

I have to say those pictures of your friends saying goodbye from the beach... moving to say the least. What is that three daughters left with their mother? I could not quite tell in the final pictures. And of course, your goddaughter is just adorable. I love the color photo of her held in someone's crossed arms.

Those pictures are just wonderful... Very beautifully captured. I love to take pictures, almost wish my camera wasn't so big so I could take it with me more, but I wont give up the quality of pictures it supplies me with, so I guess I just have to deal lol. I should probably do something with classes with the camera...

Sometimes, I hate being strictly a house wife.. Or really, a house mom.. But now that all the kids are in school, I feel my days being so lonely.

::hugs::

Strictly housewife does suck that's when I volunteered and that became a beyond full time job. Be careful what you wish for I guess. I would take this time while you have it to do all those little things for yourself. Kind of like Rowan's list of 101 things.

I'm taking a photo class as well, I'm finally learning how to use it off of auto. :woot:

Your pictures are gorgeous as always. Your god daughter pictures a really fantastic, she so beautiful.

That's great that you are embracing something to pass the time. I had a simliar situation years ago where we moved for 6 months for Obi-Wan to attend a school and then moved again for PCS move. Those 6 months were filled with lots of dog walks, working out, scrapbooking and other stuff to kill the time, plus I took a part-time job shelving books at the local public library a few nights a week. I like working and would be bored if I was home all the time (especially b/c we don't have kids). I know if we had kids, there wouldn't be any boredom, that's for sure!

Those are great! I love photography as well, and am planning, with the hubby's upcoming deployment, to seriously invest time in the hobby!

Love them!

Love the pictures! I love love love photography and plan to use it as my escape when the hubby deploys. What type of camera are you currently using? I'm about to get my first DSLR and keep contemplating which one I want.

Keep up the good work!
