Sushi
Do you like sushi? I find folks either love it or hate it. Unfortunately, I've developed a great fondness for it.
Our checking account isn't happy about this.
Fortunately, I found something easy to make at home when I'm craving some sushi style food.
I did make some adjustments. I nixed the tofu and substituted smoked salmon instead (the commissary was out of the ahi tuna I wanted). I added some cucumbers and extra nori. I also made a wasabi dressing with soy sauce, wasabi, rice vinegar, sugar and sesame oil which gave it the perfect touch. Yum!
Any favorite recipes to share? I've been in the mood to cook this week!

Reminds me of sitting under a tin roof in the middle of the jungle after visiting the Mayan ruins. Yummers! And perfect if you're coming down with a cold!
As far as recipes go I made beef stew from scratch. I have been in the habit of reading 4 or 5 recipes for one item and mix and matching it until I like it and make my own. I'm making turkey meatloaf tomorrow (barefoot contessa). Boring I know.
While in SF, I did make sushi with my friend. It was good, but the variety wasn't as great (obviously) as what I could have gotten at a restaurant. But it was cheaper!
