Sushi

Do you like sushi? I find folks either love it or hate it. Unfortunately, I've developed a great fondness for it. :adore Our checking account isn't happy about this. :anxious

Fortunately, I found something easy to make at home when I'm craving some sushi style food.

Sushi Bowl

I did make some adjustments. I nixed the tofu and substituted smoked salmon instead (the commissary was out of the ahi tuna I wanted). I added some cucumbers and extra nori. I also made a wasabi dressing with soy sauce, wasabi, rice vinegar, sugar and sesame oil which gave it the perfect touch. Yum!

Any favorite recipes to share? I've been in the mood to cook this week!

My favorite winter treat: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/sopa-de-lima-yucatan-lime-soup-recipe/index.html

Reminds me of sitting under a tin roof in the middle of the jungle after visiting the Mayan ruins. Yummers! And perfect if you're coming down with a cold!

I love love love sushi! This sounds like a great, easy way to get a fix at home. I'm going to have to try it. I also have been bit by the cooking bug, and just tonight have been looking through magazines for new recipes to try. It must be contagious!

LOVE Sushi. I have two great places in less than 5 miles from me. One is a shi shi place with "gourmet" sushi dishes. They make this one called the green leaf and its fruit. Its so good, now that I think about it I may just have to stop there and get one tomorrow. The other has just regular ole sushi but great quality.

As far as recipes go I made beef stew from scratch. I have been in the habit of reading 4 or 5 recipes for one item and mix and matching it until I like it and make my own. I'm making turkey meatloaf tomorrow (barefoot contessa). Boring I know.

I looooooooooove sushi. Om nom nom! I've ever convinced my brother of the joys of sushi.

While in SF, I did make sushi with my friend. It was good, but the variety wasn't as great (obviously) as what I could have gotten at a restaurant. But it was cheaper!
