Doorbells and car doors
Do you think I can put a sign on my doorbell not to ring it until September 2010?
It freaks me out. Every. Time. Even when I know someone's coming, I have to catch my breath for a second when it rings.
So does the sound of two car doors outside. One doesn't bother me at all. When I hear two, I stop and pray the doorbell doesn't ring. :anxious
Ahh, the fun of deployments.

I can totally relate to that. It was the worst when we lived in stairwell housing. When I would hear several people talking on the way up the stairs. It would always freak me out (((HUGS)))

I love that the postman came to my door to drop off a package about an hour after I posted this. Maybe I will put up a sign! Eeesh.

On my husband's last deployment his chief came out to see if we were doing ok... in a military vehicle. Without calling first. I thought I was having a heart attack. Then I smacked him in the arm and called his wife (we know both very well)... Anyway, she made him sleep on the couch and then CALL and apologize for scaring the bejezus out of me the next day.
Hang in there. Am thinking of you.

Oh my gosh LS, I'd have slammed the door in his face!! Good grief!
Nice to see you back, by the way!

Even the day I KNEW somebody from his command was coming in uniform, it scared the crap out of me to open the door and see him there.
Hang in.
If you hang the sign and people ring the doorbell anyway for whatever reason, would that make it worse? If not, put it up.

oh yeah. I had a black Ford Contour, and scared myself when I didn't park in the garage and got up early in the morning. looked out the kitchen window and really clutched. I did put a sign on the door - please knock and disconnected the bell. what I thought that was going to do? I don't know. one does some strange things during deployment!
