Among other definitions, I am someone who has fallen head over heels for a Marine infantryman. I am a portrait photographer, chocolate addict, wine lover, sometimes writer, dog lover, and oh yeah, a military spouse too.
This blog was started as a personal outlet while the aforementioned Marine was deployed to Iraq very early in our dating relationship. I decided to continue posting periodically after he made it safely home. Three months into our marriage he returned to Iraq for another tour, and I continued to write. After he returned home we encountered two PCS moves in 7 months and another year long trip to Iraq for him, so I figured I'd just keep blogging and hang on for this crazy ride! Another deployment and a cancer diagnosis later and I'm still writing, often just as an outlet for the crazy stuff the goes through my head.

As it took me 40 minutes to drive 10 miles yesterday through all of the tourist traffic on the beach, I couldn't help but wonder if they think about the reason for the holiday behind their weekend. It was all I could think about this morning. My hus… more »
Okay so as you might have noticed, my blog is BARE. No header, no fun smilies, nada. There were some compatibility issues that created a need to upgrade my long-defunct blog software version, which means that all my customizations are gone. I've actu… more »
At about 8:30pm last night, I went into the garage to look for my spare router to give to a friend. While I was in there, I realized I could hardly walk through all of the still-unpacked boxes and decided to put the utility shelving up. |-| Two hours l… more »
